I’m a Cincinnati native. I love the city, the region, and I don’t want to be anywhere else. I enjoy the practice of law because the craft of explanatory and argumentative writing, converting legalese into plain English, and helping people who make things happen analyze and solve their problems.

In my view, that’s why people need lawyers. If the law was clear, we wouldn’t be necessary. Most people have better things to do with their time, I just happen to enjoy this kind of work.

I started out in an elite, boutique employment law firm litigating class actions on behalf of employees who were being paid less than the minimum wage and other illegal practices. We did excellent work for our clients, but I wanted to play a more constructive role. I enjoy working with the people who make stuff happen—nonprofit and small business leaders that fill very important roles in many people’s lives.

Aside from law, I enjoy continuing to study history (on lots of topics, but especially 19th Century America and Europe), gardening, and interesting conversations with my friends over a good beer (of which Cincinnati has plenty!).
